In mid 2021 my 15 year old daughter Ruby taught herself how to crochet amigurumi toys. She found that she had a real passion for trying a variety of patterns. She shared these via her fathers workplace just before Christmas and was inundated with interest from people wanting to buy them. This motivated her to start a small business called ‘Crochet By Ruby.’ Our first business trial was the Greytown Easter fair which was a huge success. The natural progression was to aim higher and we were thrilled when the Martinborough fair was scheduled just before Christmas. This has given her the incentive to branch out and increase her design pool.

She now has a number of categories including sea creatures, mythical creatures, flora and fauna, farm and wild animals and various dinosaurs - something for everyone!

There are three sizes (small, medium and large) and the prices reflect the size and the making time ranging from $12.00 to $60.00.
